The Story Behind Chef Adam Glick
EARLY ON :
Born in Hobbs, New Mexico, Adam was brought up in a variety of locations both in the U. S. and overseas, living and traveling with his sister and parents. It wasn't until his return to California that the culinary bug bit him. About two years into university in California, Adam chose to drop out and fulfill his childhood passion of cooking. Traveling as a kid likely instilled some desire to recreate these amazing ethnic experiences from the past. He would move to Southern California and attend the Art Institute of California, in San Diego, where he would receive a Bachelor's degree in Culinary Management. While living in San Diego, Adam cooked and served in some of San Diego's finest restaurants including the University Club atop Symphony Towers, La Valencia Hotel and Bertrand at Mr. A's. His presence near Southern Californian ocean inevitably led to his career at Sea.
ON YACHTS :
Over a decade later, Adam has been the chef for dozens of private motor and sailing yachts, ranging from just 90' all the way up to 225' mega yachts. These boats didn't just sit on the dock. Chef Adam traveled over 100,000 nautical miles as chef de cuisine, including a trans-Pacific crossing by sail. As a private yacht chef, Adam has traveled around the globe docking in over 30 countries all while cooking for ultra-high net worth clients. Cooking on yachts taught Adam life long skills, how to cook the highest end food, how to fish and understand all things ocean, how to source food locally and quickly, how to think on the fly and run his own restaurant at sea. His years of experience in the industry have kept him busy and his clients happy. Yachting is nice because it transitions so easily to some land based jobs, if its 'yacht quality' its good enough for just about anyone. The paths yachting can take you down are unpredictable and sometimes unexplainable. In this case, Chef Adam Glick would find the film industry.
ON TELEVISION :
In the summer of 2013, Chef Adam Glick filmed the very first episode of Food Network's "Cutthroat Kitchen." His episode 'Wing it' would air as episode 6 of the first season, alongside Top Chef All-Stars Celeb Chef Davidi. In 2016, in what seemed to be destiny, Chef Adam set sail for Split, Croatia to film the second season of the Bravo TV hit series Below Deck Mediterranean. In 2017-18 Adam is asked back for another season of Below Deck Med 3. In 2019 Adam is asked to headline an entirely new expansion of the series titled "Below Deck Sailing Yacht." The Below Deck Series is "Reality TV" which showcases the trials and tribulations of super yacht crew for one entire overly dramatic yachting season. Adam has made appearances on the "Today Show" with Al Roker, the "Kelly Clarkson Show", "Ellens Roundup" multiple news outlets, talk shows and many more. He then made the transition to OutsideTV, where Adam would host his very own adventure based cooking show featuring professional athletes and outdoorsmen/woman titled "STOKED." Currently, Adam can still be found in front of the camera. However, now almost entirely cooking in adventurous outdoorsy settings, i.e. off a tailgate on a cliff, for a Toyota commercial.
PRODUCT DESIGN / MARKETING :
Chef Adam has also created a brandname for himself. The "Adventure Chef," which even includes his very own folding 6-piece Knife Kit made by Messermeister. From apparel, to pop sockets, the marketing appeal for an adventurous chef is strong and thriving in an age where getting outdoors is ever more important. Adam produces a variety of high quality content in the form of photo and video for the Adventure marketing space, available in a variety of platforms, internationally. Having worked with major brands such as Toyota, Crocs, Messermeister, Traeger, Four-Wheel Campers, Stanley, BFGoodrich, Unisom, Atlas-Obscura and countless others, its proven he can integrate adventure into just about anything...
CHARITY AND VOLUNTEERING :
As an Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America, the idea of 'doing a good deed daily' was instilled in Adam's life. Recently Chef Adam has found his calling, and a way to give back. "I come from a long line of teachers and I realize now, it's what I was meant to do. Two of my greatest passions combined have come together, not only to help heal the children, but also myself."

"My first day helping to teach these kids how to surf in Malibu, CA, I was hooked, inspired, and relieved. I'm starting to think the surf therapy is actually for the adults and surf instructors. The smile on these kids faces is priceless and makes you feel amazing inside." Chef Adam not only volunteers for these Surf Therapy Organizations, but is also committed to donating private dinners for two, at auction, to benefit the charities.

"(AWOW)A WALK ON WATER provides Surf Therapy to individuals with special needs by hosting Surf Therapy events that celebrate and honor courageous kids, adults and their families. For one beautiful day at the beach, there are no labels. Everyone is an athlete. "
